A Communist, Evil, Faithful, Deluded or Stupid

On Marketplace today there was a story,  An old friend of the party assesses China's new leaders, about an American member of the Chinese Communist party, or as I like to call them the "ChiComs", An old friend of the party, the First American member, assesses China's new leaders. Sidney Rittenberg is over 90 at this point and has spent more than a sixth of his life in ChiCom gulags. He is still a committed communist. That takes faith. After the Cultural Revolution he got out jail and was repatriated to the US. But he still believes.

The message of his life and Johnny Walker Lindh is that some religious/political conversions should be considered the equivalent of voluntary abandonment of citizenship.

ChiCom Censors As Just Another Form of Executive Meddling

Read an interesting article in Foreign Policy about a journalist and her censor, Me and My Censor. I have read many other stories, historical and fictional, of censorship in the past, Newspeak and Stalinist airbrushing being the most notable. This story show something else, it makes scary ChiCom censorship as something no worse than Executive Meddling, see TV Tropes, which is pretty bad itself.

However we before start having positive feelings for soft and cuddly commies is that there worse things that resistance to executive meddling can cause such as unemployment/underemployment. Communists on the other hand play hard ball in very hard and nasty ways. See an earlier post at this blog, Death of a Communist Hitman 40 Years Ago. Check out this talk by a KGB infiltrator, Soviet Subversion of the Free World Press, 1984 - Complete. We need to remember that Commies are evil, and if they are not they are stupid, check out Odd Definition of Loyalty / Treason Among America's "Civil Rights Community" which explores Paul Robeson's moral blindness.

Years and years ago I saw Project Trinity at tiff. I mentioned this documentary in an earlier post, Nuclear Testing as Art/Astronomy. The above is a complete copy of Project Trinity.

Chicom Hothead Defines the Rule of Law

Peking University professor Kong Qingdong is being interviewed after a video of a mainland Chinese woman eating  in Hong Kong subway went viral. Apparently it is against the rules to eat in the Hong Kong subway and many in subway car were appalled by her bold faced misbehavior and this led to flame war between Hong Kong and the chicom netizens.

The good professor rants on about all the things about Hong Kong that he hates. But then he shows an interesting insight in the thought process communists. Western businessmen should remember that China is not Hong Kong writ large. Communist China lacks the rule of law. For Kong Qingdong this is okay because the rule of law is only for degenerates.

At the  5:55 mark
  • Interviewer: But I heard that the environment of hpng kong is cleaner than us [Beijing].
  • Kong Qingdong: That is because the rule of law, not because of (human) quality.Just like Singapore the fine for smoking is 5000. That is rule of law, right. The reliance on rule law shows the people have no quality.

Teenage Mutant Chi-Com Turtles

On the chicom version of Youtube is this mashup of the theme to TMNT and some Chinese communist propaganda broadcast/concert. The original video was probably from before the Cultural Revolution because the band/orchestra that we see is using western instruments like the violin.

Follow The Great Leader Chairman Meow

I have a very low opinion of the Chicoms and other murderous purveyors of commie revolution. Their way leads to death. However if Nazis have good tailors commies have good advertising, see here for previous blog entry on chicom propaganda. The above is from "Obey the Kitty", a group with a store front at Cafe Press and a blog.

This was posted on AH.com thread, alternate world propaganda. Hendryk, who would know, commented that:
As it turns out, Mao in Chinese is actually a homophone for the word "cat".

Chicom Cybercrime and Western Stupidity

"the capitalists will sell us the rope to hang them."

VI Lenin on the often moral flexibility of businessmen.

They (Capitalist) will furnish which will serve to support of the Communist Party in their countries and, by supplying us materials and technical equipment which we lack, will restore our military industry, necessary for our future attack against our suppliers. To put it in other words, they will work for the preparation of their own suicide.

VI Lenin, fully footnoted quote in

We have already been suffered through one Cold War. Now because some short sighted stupidity of bottom feeders another Cold War, at least, is due. In today's Globe & Mail there are two competing stories about pleasures and pains of doing business in the territory currently controlled by the Chinese Communist Regime. In the hard news section is a scary story, Foreign journalists in China target of computer attack. In the aptly named business section of the Globe & Mail, ROB, is a more upbeat story of the China trade, Interac ABMs to accept Chinese debit cards.

Screens scrapes of both articles after the jump. The G&M only allows access to the old articles for a limited time.

Madness from the Fans of the ChiComs and other Commie Bastards

What is with Adrienne Clarkson? In the Globe and Mail on Friday she pens praise to the crazy madman commie Norman Bethune; Remember Bethune? Apparently not. In the Sunday Toronto Star, Let's elect our head of state; she is positively referred to in an op-ed by a committed Canadian republican, in other words in the writings of a traitor. Let us leave the case of the madness of republicanism, if the fact that "el presidente" is a the title that most despots of the last 50 years have held cannot convince such ideologues.

Norman Bethune was a great man. He pioneered the technology of mobile blood banks. He was in the Spanish civil war on the side of legitimate government. I myself attended school in the same building that he was educated. Yes, he was a great man. But to turn to communism in the age of Stalin shows a distinct lack of sanity. Because of WWII many remember Stalin somewhat positively. He helped the west defeat Hitler and Nazis and the then occupied most of Hitler's Eastern European conquests. Except we, in the west allied with a regime that had killed 20 million defeat another regime that was going to kill 10 million. In China there was another dilemma. Norman Bethune and other commies helped to replace a corrupt and incompetent regime with an incorruptible and competent tyranny. Mao eventually, after the death of Bethune, went on to kill 20 million plus people. Like Stalin. Like Stalin his name is not a curse of the world's lips. Instead, like Stalin, Mao corpse squats in the centre of his conquered capital.

Photos of China's Destruction

Here are some images of the environmental degradation of China. While not as as powerful as Edward Burtynsky's work it is still very interesting. In the above photo a bootless man is mining coal using very primitive methods

Paying for The Bullets

The current Chinese Communist regime has habit of whacking lots of people. It is an old Maoist tradition. They charge the families of the condemned the cost of of the bullet through the brain. An Austrailian comedian in this video is asking the local Chinese communist consulate to pay part of the cost of whacking its dear leader.

The Chinese Business Mirage

China has never been a very good market for foreign goods. Historically China was self sufficent in food and manufactured items. Their had little need or desire for foreign goods. There were the only source for silk, tea and porcelin. There were willing to take silver and gold. After the 19th century there were willing buy curiosities like clocks and bicycles. At one Lancastershire textile mill owners thought their prosperity would be assured if everyone in China wore a sightly longer shirt. It was a mirage. The only time when the rest of the world was able to reverse the currency drain built in to the China was to sell dope.

Over the last generation government and business leaders in the west have promoted trade with China. The net result of all this expansion of trade has been a permament Chinese trade surplus. China is willing to buy raw materials but not manufactured goods. The expansion of trade has been zero benefit to all but China. Instead we have business groups agitating for policies that promote a tyrannical communist regime. Here is the story of today of a fake Chinese Disneyland.

At Cartoon Brew where I got this link somebody pointed out the website for this pseudo amusement park is http://www.bs-amusement-park.com/.

ChiCom Propaganda

I went to the same school as Norman Bethune. Or should I say school building as his high school became my elementry school. Bethune has a good reputation as someone who saved alot of lives. He was like a medical missionary going aboard to do good work. Instead of spreading the gospel along with medical care Bethune was a communist intent on spreading world wide revolution. This led him to associate with the tyrant above, see here for the murderer's memory of this meeting. How could anyone become a communist in Stalin's time.

A book has been put together that covers Chinese Communist posters, Chinese Propaganda Posters: From Revolution to Modernization. A website has been put up by the author, Stefan Landsberg's Chinese Propaganda Posters, with many of the same posters covered in his book as well as updates on recent ChiCom posters and themes, SARS and Bejing 2008.
