In 2007 xkcd made a map of the internet based on user populations rather than ownership, Online Communities. The amusing skit above is from Cracked and sees the internet major sites as personifications like god heads, It is easy to see why Pirate Bay is mistrusted in this setup. It is depicted as a group huddled around a copier.

Homer Simpson in Simpsons S24E15
The problem with this is General Zod is an enemy of Superman so this makes little sense.

How to Protect the World from the Universe
Do you you ever worry that SETI is needlessly exposing ourselves to alien civilizations? From Kickstarter comes a project to spend £20 million to design, not build, a working Death Star, Kickstarter Open Source Death Star. It is unlikely to get funded however a quarter of million has already been raised.

In the 70's Darth Vader was Superman's Trainer
The book Superman, by Larry Tye, there is a paragraph describing Christopher Reeve's training regime. The exercise and bodybuilding training plan was put together and run by "...Dave Prowse, a body builder and gym owner in London...". And who is this random "Dave". Only the honorary leader of the 501st Legion that's who.

Ultraman Vanquishees Japanese Rubber Suited Monsters
From a link by Aaron Gross in the thread Giant Japanese Robot from Outer Space personnel news, on iSteve.
I went into a trance watching this. The flashing lights, the repeated phrases, the flashing lights, the amazing special effects put me a trance that I only woke up from later.

God's Eye View of the Universe.
To move across the milky way would take light 40,000 years, and this video spans the distance of a galaxy in a millisecond or two. So, 40,000 years is 14,610,000 days, is 350,640,000 hours, is 21,038,400,000 minutes, is 1,262,304,000,000 seconds, is 1,262,304,000,000,000 milliseconds. If we say that that the "camera" in this video is spanning the distance of a milky-way sized galaxy in 1 millisecond, then it's travelling at 1,262,304,000,000,000 times the speed of light. VERY rough estimate.
Explanation of this video/simulation/animation from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, The First Public Data Release from BOSS, the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey .
This video seems to be part of the Total Perspective Vortex as makes galaxies appear as meaningless specks of light. That is the view of the egoist needing validation of the universe. This animation makes your sized galaxy feel small and weak.

"I HATE the Internet" - Hitler
"The nerds have won. We live in their world now. This is reality, so must accept it."
Adolf Hitler,

Mash up created by Ted Rall

after his kick starter project fails
Here is a another Downfall mashup, an early one apparently, that makes Hitler seem aphasic as random hipsters keep adding nonsensical subtitles.

New Light Sabres For Sale
I came across this ad at Cracked. The company, Ultra Sabres, sells light sabres and kits to make them as well as parts. I don't i think I'd prefer a sword that can really kill and maim. However as non lethal toys they sound like a good idea.

Mustache Shared by Clowns (and Hitler)
The supposed motive for Chaplin making The Great Dictator was "he stole my mustache". However, I can't a good source for that quote.

Is this Email Necessary? - Flowchart

During WWII railroads were militarized. At the same they were allowed to continued operating under existing management. The nationalization the British railway companies happened after not during WWII. Rail companies were placed in a ticklish spot, they were still private corporations, they didn't want to complete annoy the traveling public who were past and future customers. So advertising was done by both government and railways to discourage consumer traffic.
Here is a flowchart that discourages email. It is not that email is such a bad thing but because it so useful. But too much email is sometimes worse that no email at all.
