Looking the history and politics of Arab "nations" one is often confronted with a difficulty in building nation states. Steve Sailer wrote Cousin Marriage Conundrum: The ancient practice discourages democratic nation-building to address so of the difficulties that inbreeding presents to nation building. In a similar vein is this article by de Atkins, an American military officer wrote in 1999, Why Arabs Lose Wars. Such happy reading.

Interesting stuff. If De Atkine is correct, The US will be unable to build an army capable of keeping peace in Iraq, which will be doomed to sectarian strife until a strong man emerges who can impose his will on the factions. Not a happy thought.
